back again for the monthly post!

i couldn't think of a cool theme for this post... err... not that the other ones had cool themes.  but i think i'll use... haiku acrostic (i don't remember how to do haikus).

Here goes... "An Acrostic of the Word: 'Updates'" by Whitney

Usual ~ I now have more than one eatery where all I have to say is "The Usual" and they know exactly what I mean.  Woot!
Purple ~ That's my favorite color.  My second favorite color is Yellow... but I don't like the Lakers (don't hate!).
Dependence ~ Learning to cut back on my dependence on other people and other things (though they can be good!  AACF, church, etc.) for my relationship with the Lord.  It's seriously just Him and me... ooh... another "D" = discipline.  gotta get on that...
Allowance ~  I no longer get an allowance... but now I actually need one.  It's not like when I was 6 and all I ever used my allowance for was a cookie (or two, or three... or five--yes, I was a sad child).  Hoorah adult-hood!
Traffic ~ The only way to make traffic better is to sing in the car (optional: open windows)... and sing loudly.
Everybody was Kung Fu fighting... ~ Uhhh... I really liked the movie Kung Fu Panda.
San Diego Zoo and Sea World in the same day!!! ~ Seriously, the best day ever... for so many reasons:
       1. Elephants
       2. Giraffes
       3. Polar Bears
       4. Petting a dolphin!!
       5. Zoo jokes
       6. Fantastic company
       7. Funny faces
       8. Photo booths
       9. Sea Lions!
       10. Perfect weather... !

    Woot!

2nd post in a month!  Excellent

Yep, I'm at work right now.  It's what I do now... work.  Though a list of what I don't do now since graduating, might be more interesting... cuz there are a LOT of things that ended along with my undergrad life... so here goes--despite its similarity to the post from April ("a week in the 'working world')":

    What I no longer do...

    1. Write regularly on my xanga... so I'm pretty good about getting at least one post in a month.  That may change... though the blogging may go outside of the xanga community.  Shh... don't tell them...
    2. Write in Journal #9... Yep, I'm on my 10th journal of all time, kinda exciting.  It's amazing how the endings and beginnings of journals seem to always correspond with the circumstances in my life.  Pretty cool.
    3. Sleep in.  This is probably the suckiest one... though I shouldn't complain because it's good for me and also because it's not entirely true that I don't sleep in... perhaps it's more accurate to say that I should no longer be sleeping in.  Working really challenges me to sleep earlier and have a normal schedule... though so far I'm either outsmarting or getting pwned by this challenge as I have neither slept early nor had a normal schedule since... March. =P  I must say, however, that every hour of non-sleep has been worthwhile...
    4. Go to UC Irvine.  As you saw in the previous post... I've graduated!!!!!  Praise the Lord!!!  Though I have plenty of friends (AND Jordan!!) through whom I can still enjoy the tales of undergrad education at UCI. :D
    5. Go to high school dances.  Okay, this is weird and random since I haven't gone to one of those since, well, high school.  But I was just looking at a bunch of the PVBC kids' dance photos and I realized how fun those were.  And I kinda miss them...
    6. Live in Irvine/PV.  This also isn't quite true... yet.  As of tomorrow (6/25), I will be moving into an apartment in Long Beach with two absolutely lovely girls I know from home.  Instead of having a terrible commute from Irvine to PV, I think Long Beach will become "home base" for now.  So now I'll just have a semi-terrible commute to and from Long Beach!  Hoorah!
    7. Work one job.  In addition to interning at Entrepreneur.com (which rocks, btw!), I'll be interning at Keep Company!  I'm really stoked about that.  So if you're in LA on Weds. and Thurs. and need to eat dinner un-alone, call me up.  I'll be bumming around trying to avoid rush hour traffic like the plague (i almost wrote "plaque"?  i guess you avoid plaque, too?).
    8. Help out with AACF.  What will I do with myself Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights!?!  For the last two, see #7 listed above.
    9. Regularly see some of my favorite people of all time... and yeah, that sucks.
    10. Exercise regularly.  This will change!  Mark my words... :P
    11. Avoid video games.  Wii is my new addiction... it was once all about soy and almond products, but now... I can't get enough of Wii!  I challenge any of you to Super Mario Kart.
    12. Avoid wearing shorts at all times.  Probably a good thing... to keep my legs from remaining the sad, bleach-white color they usually are.  Plus, it's been so stinkin' hot recently...
    13. Make jokes.  Just kidding.
    14. Think cereal makes a decent breakfast/lunch/dinner.  It's fine for a quick breakfast... and I still love cereal.  But I need more than cereal to survive.  Throw some bread or fruit in there or something!

  • Just Fine =)

i'm sitting in my apartment--alone.  though the space is anything but empty.  flowers, cards, gifts, boxes, furniture... it's all just piling up around me.  but i like it.  =)

i'm a college graduate.  i have a sweatshirt that confirms that.  =)  weird.

    more to come

    rigmarole

(rigmarole is such a great word... and so fitting for this post =P)

i'm a huge fan of... pizza.  yes, i'm always willing to bat for the tofu, vegetable, even the prime rib team... but nothing flushes my cheeks, riles me up, nor creates that deep, inner need to cheer quite like pizza (or football for that matter... but that's a different story).

my only bummer is that i've never had New York or Chicago pizza... like the true kind found only in New York or Chicago.  and while i consider myself a pizza fan, not connoisseur, that hasn't really bothered me until i read this

so now I only have two questions... or two and a third:
who wants to go to New York now?  where's the best pizza place in SoCal?  or, for that matter...NorCal? (it's a heckuva lot closer than New York!)
